Celeo Redes wins transmission bid in Chile

New infrastructure enhances connectivity

Celeo Redes wins transmission bid in Chile

The operator of Chile’s central grid, CDEC-SIC, has announced that Celeo Redes Chile, majority-held by Spain’s Elecnor and minority-held by Dutch pension fund APG, presented the best economic proposal in the auction for a transmission project in Chile.

Financial bids for the Nueva Diego de Almagro substation, a 2x220kV transmission line between Diego de Almagro and Cumbres, and a 1x750 MVA, 500/220kV transformer project were opened this week. This infrastructure is part of a larger CDEC-SIC driven scheme to enhance grid connection capacity in the North of Chile, which will foster the further growth of renewable energies in Chile's energy mix.
