Celeo redes wins transmission concession in Brazil

Celeo Redes has been awarded the construction, operation and maintenance of the transmission facilities corresponding to Lot 2 of the last tender ("Leilao") held in Brazil by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL). Celeo Redes is a company owned by Spanish contractor Elecnor, and Dutch pension fund APG.

The new transmission concession consists of several sections of 500 kV and 230 kV lines, totaling 414 km in length, the construction of three new substations that add up to a total of 4,200 MVA of transformation capacity, and different extensions in 4 existing substations.

The project, located in the states of Piauí and Ceará, will serve to evacuate the power of the new coastal wind developments in the states of Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará.

Elecnor, meanwhile, will perform the turnkey contract (EPC) associated with this investment.

Voltiq arranged the investment by Dutch pension fund APG into Celeo Redes back in 2014, and performs regular financial services.
