Vietnam electricity to quadruple

Power & Electricity World Vietnam 2018 was held in HCMC on 10 & 11 April. Voltiq's Director Baoqing Miao, together with other panelists from Total-Eren, FMO Private Equity, and USAID Clean Power Asia, spoke about how industry can work with government to develop the legal framework and support mechanisms that will drive further solar power development in Vietnam.

With real GDP growth averaged more than 6% in the last decade, Vietnam has embarked an ambitious plan to develop renewable energies to meet its electricity consumption which is expected to grow about 4 times from 2015 to 2035. According to Vietnam’s Power Development Plan, by 2030 solar is expected to grow from currently 15 MW to 12 GW while wind power will grow from 146 MW today to 6 GW.

Voltiq together with its partner, are mandated as exclusive sell-side advisor for solar PV development project portfolios in Vietnam.
