Jan-Peter Elffers is Partner at Voltiq since 2022. Jan-Peter was Co-founder of Amsterdam Capital Partners (Amscap), a financial advisory firm focussed on offshore wind energy projects. Amscap merged with Voltiq in July 2022.
Jan-Peter co-founded Amscap in 2014. He brings over 18 years of experience in developing, structuring and financing offshore wind across Europe and Asia in different forms of capacity while working for both pure developers as well as financial advisory boutiques.
At Amscap, Jan-Peter managed dozens of financial advisory mandates that involved offshore wind tenders, financings and M&A deals. In September 2021, Jan-Peter lead the successful zero-subsidy bid of EDFR in the German offshore wind tender (433 MW). The latter scope of work included a detailed market sounding for different PPA’s structures in combination with a compelling project finance structure.
Before founding Amscap, Jan-Peter was Investment Director with Typhoon Offshore that developed Gemini (600 MW) from scratch. As one of the two Gemini finance senior executives, he was part of the core deal team responsible for raising the entire debt and equity financing (2.8 EURb). Prior to Typhoon Offshore, Jan-Peter was project finance manager at Evelop Capital, and worked on Prinses Amalia (120 MW) and Belwind (165 MW).
Other than a thorough understanding of offshore wind and renewables in general, Jan-Peter adds strong development, project finance and M&A transaction execution skills. Jan-Peter is fluent in Dutch and English.
