Paul Rittersma is Partner and Co-founder of Voltiq. He has 20 years of experience in investing and financing renewable energy and infrastructure projects. At Voltiq, Paul has been leading numerous landmark M&A transactions such as the investment by Dutch asset manager APG into Celeo's Latin America transmission platform in 2014, the 115 MW Wieringermeer wind transaction in The Netherlands, and the 400 MW Gordon Butte pumped-storage hydro project in Montana, USA.
Before co-founding Voltiq in 2009, Paul worked as Senior Portfolio Manager Infrastructure in the global infrastructure team of Dutch asset manager PGGM Investments and was instrumental in the successful roll-out of the renewable energy and co-investment portfolio in Europe and North America. Paul was responsible for committing and investing over EUR 700 million. Prior to joining PGGM, Paul worked for Dutch utility Nuon/Vattenfall as Manager Project Finance. He arranged and closed project financings for renewable energy projects in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Norway, Spain and India.
Paul has served as an executive and a non-executive director on the board of companies in The Netherlands, USA, Guernsey and Spain. He is fluent in Dutch, English and German.
